IB denied delayed baggage reimbursement
Hello Guys,
I recently filed delayed baggage claim with Iberia. They did not delivery our bags until 6 days after our trip. They denied our request for reimbursement, response is below."We have realized that the delay of your baggage was made on your return flight to your permanent address. The payment of basic necessities is intended to cover the most basic expenses derived from the delay of a passenger's luggage in a country/location different from their permanent address.
For this reason, we see that the payment of essential invoices is not appropriate."
Has anyone had this same experience and is this legal? I have found no info on the US DOT delayed baggage terms or Montreal Convention.
