SQ news release Singapore Airlines To Boost Services Across Network In 2024 Northern Summer Season
07 August 2023 - Singapore Airlines (SIA) will ramp up services to destinations across its network during the Northern Summer 2024 operating season (31 March 2024 to 26 October 2024), supporting the strong demand for air travel to its key markets.

AUSTRALIA
From 31 March 2024, SQ203 and SQ204 between Singapore and Cairns will operate four-times weekly service instead of the current five-times weekly service. SIA will upgauge the aircraft on this service from the Boeing 737-8 narrowbody to the larger A350-900 medium-haul aircraft, deploying a widebody aircraft on this route for the first time in more than 20 years.

From March 31, medium-haul aircraft will fly direct between Cairns and Singapore four times a week and flights between Darwin, Melbourne and Perth to Singapore will be restored to pre-pandemic rates.

Cairns Airport chief executive Richard Barker said it would be the first time a wide-body Airbus plane serviced the Cairns-to-Singapore route, increasing the airline's weekly into Cairns from 1,540 seats to 2,424 seats.

Cairns Airport and Tourism Tropical North Queensland received federal and state government funding through the International Tourism Recovery Fund, which was used in finalising the deal with Singapore Airlines.
