On the MP redemption side, I used to redeem for long haul premium cabin, but now that is less useful given the lack of availbility and increased redemption price. Also part of the consideration is the reduction of useful timings for transcon connections to BOI and SLC that I use as home airports (the latter being a delta feeder from TWF to SLC).
Does this make sense?
I'll give your post a bump.
I don't know much about the BA program (even though I have tons of miles parked there that I find difficult to use). Not sure how much you fly AS. AS lounge access can be purchased for $550 or so. If you lose more in "value" by switching to BAEC, it would perhaps be better to stick with AS MP. Personally I have not had problems finding reasonably priced longhaul AS partner awards, but obviously my routes and ability to purchase early may not help you.
