Should I Keep Two Car Rental Reservations Active?
I'm flying to Vancouver in the near future and plan on renting a car for a trip over to Victoria, up to Tofino, over to Whistler, and back down to Vancouver.
I've currently have two reservations made, both in downtown Vancouver near Canada Place, one with Dollar, one with Avis.
The problem is that both of these rental places have absolutely dismal Google review rankings... 2.9 and 3.2. The remarks are full of negative reviews, including, no cars, extremely long wait times, and excessive charges.
Thus, I am seriously contemplating keeping both reservations open, just in case my preferred rental is not available.
I get that this is stiffing one of the car rental agencies in that they could have rented out the car I have on reserve. On the other hand, with so many complaints about the rental agencies not having a car, why shouldn't I protect myself.
Thanks.
