Most other airlines cannot lookup NZ PNRs, and with limited success on other access systems such as CheckMyTrip - at least in myexperience.
As far as I know CheckMyTrip etc require knowledge of what airline the PNR is from so in theory you could have 2 Pants that are the same but on different airlines. So this shouldn't affect the total number of combinations available
