I called the DM desk asking about a trip. At the end of the call, the DM agent was telling me that I need to get the DL AMEX Reserve card (never gonna happen!). He kept telling me that I was competing against other DM/1MM for upgrades and that I was only hurting myself if I didn't apply for this product. It was so uncomfortable and unexpected. I politely told him I needed to go to prepare for a meeting in 10 minutes. He said, "I only need 5 minutes." I was like, "No, I need to prepare, but thank you for the offer." He said, "C'mon, you know that I'm trying here. We get graded for these things." At this point, I was so thoroughly uncomfortable and kinda grossed out by the sell that I just said I needed to go.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It seems odd (but perhaps unsurprising because it's DL) that these agents are helping me with reservations, upgrades, and IRROPs and then trying to sell me an AMEX card?
