I don't believe 24hrs cooling off applies to BAH bookings. Just flight only.

Rather than waiting until the last possible moment, you might want to secure earlier in the day next time to avoid disappointment. BA hasn't exactly got a great track record where technology, is concerned so there's no guarantee anything would be working at the last moment when needing to book.
