CX just announced that they would exercise purchase rights for another 32 A320neo/A321neo. It turns out that When CX bought 32 A321neo in 2017, they also got purchase rights.
So 32 A320neo/A321neo directly from Airbus and 18 from lease. This adds up to 50 and it matches with the report of CX purchasing up to 50 A320neo/A321neo early this year:

Clearly they intend to hand over customers and market share and downsize.
Highly doubt these are going to he used to launch new cities in China or India
