For anything AAdvantage related I believe the flight needs to be marketed and operated by AA. So I think your routes are either a cash offer at checkin (i wouldn’t get my hopes up this is offered) or JL upfares you on that segment
There is nothing in the OP that suggests that the flight is not marketed by AA - just that the ticket was sold by JL
