Expert Flyer shows business class cabin almost completely wide open, including most windows, but when I call JAL, they say all windows are occupied. EF says otherwise. Are they blocking seats in business class, too? Im a oneworld Emerald, but not with JAL. Is there a way for me to get one of those windows? I dont want a center-section business class seat. Very odd.
I wonder if they open up closer to departure. I can't even set an EF alert because the seats are showing as unoccupied!
Last year when I also had status with AA as OWE and had bought the flights on AA ticket stock (001) with JL-coded flight numbers, I also was not able to directly assign my seats.

Generally, this link has most of the common troubleshooting questions and answers for your question. You indeed need to call AA since they are the issuing agent.
As a JL OWS and soon OWE, we do get the better seating privileges on JL metal flights
