I haven't paid attention to the Gatwick service before but from the timetables it is just an extension of the Heathrow service, so you could use a Heathrow round trip and a Heathrow-Gatwick one way ticket! The journey time is competitive with National Express so Oxford Bus is probably still the best choice.
