I've seen reports that the access for Chase cardholders is only good when departing from BOS, not arriving there. Does anybody know if the departure-only restriction applies to the 1x access for Priority Pass through a non-Chase card? I'm flying into BOS in a couple months and would love to stop in and check it out.

I think they have pre-departure visits in mind, but I'd give it a shot on arrival. I suggest that you
not mention that you're there on arrival. Just hand over the boarding pass and see what happens.
