I had JKF-DOH award flights in J on Oct. 28th, supposedly the last day flying out of JFK? Wrong, my reservation was deleted, no miles reinstated, no one called, no e-mail; I only noticed because the fight dropped off my list of flights on aa.com. Had lengthy call with EP agent (after waiting 20 minutes for a callback), was ultimately rebooked on 28th out of PHL on J tickets, and front cabin was pretty open at the time. Confusion at EP help desk, could not find PHL-DOH flights on their system for 28th, so had to check another system, then there it was on the 28th. Info. did not match press reports nor AAs internal comms on what was happening, so I assume there's a 50% chance the flight exists at all. I booked the flights fairly recently, on July 30, then cancelled previously booked awards to DOH that connected through LHR. Now I wonder--was what they did ethical?
