Strange service really. I received a ticket in Business Class from my partner in China, flying GVA-AMS (KLM) then AMS-CAN-HRB, all in one ticket. Tried to reserve a seat online, but wouldn't let me do it, both on the app and on the web. When I called the hotline, they first asked me to send my passport via e-mail (which I did). Called back one hour later, they said they didn't receive it but offered to do the seat reservation anyway. Not very friendly, but I guess this is Chinese standard... asked for a window seat and they offered "8A" on the A350, which turned out to be 8C when I checked the reservation later. A350 doesn't have 8A, actually. Why do they have to be like that? For a 6000 EUR ticket one could really expect a bit more.
Any experiences with transfer in CAN? Does the baggage go through to domestic or do I need to pick it up? Better to fly carry-on only?
