Update. I 'took to Twitter' last night, raised a confected hissy fit titled 'Why is Iberia LYING to me???' and - hey presto! - everything is sorted this morning. It's an ugly commentary on our current society that one can often only get things resolved by companies by making a fool of oneself with displays of social media histrionics rather than calmly calling the dept concerned. I'm a 56 year old man, for god's sake!
