To clarify a few things, the three tiered cake stand afternoon tea is indeed still alive and well. I just didn't like what was on it. Tasteless mini sandwiches on white bread on the bottom, a muffin or two and or small Malaysian rice pastry in middle, and two dry scones on top . Just a bit too British and Western for my taste. If you are more about the tradition and the presentation than the food then you may like it just fine.
Regarding the dress code, it was a non issue for me. I was in casual quick dry pants and tee shirt every day and no fashion police carted me away. I was happy to see no kids there at happy hour. My own kids are annoying enough, don't need to deal with others when trying to relax
Regarding the temperature, there is no "correct" and healthy indoor temp. Personally I just like it a notch or two below 24 especially when heat index outdoors is above 100 F and I'm soaking my clothes every time I venture out. If there is some mechanical reason the room thermostat doesn't work they should notify you on website and or with information in the room
Finally I should note regarding my complaint about food temperature at breakfast, Ive stayed at three other hotels in My so far on this trip now and every one has had the same issue. They just seem to think lukewarm food is okay
