There is no federal definition of violent misdemeanor. There are "Crimes of violence" most of which are felonies. The TSA has a bunch of disqualifying offenses (mirrors similar FAA offenses) but again most are felonies. Of course, almost anything with regard to travel/immigration/smuggling, etc... is going to be right out even with only. single.
