I know this was awhile back but what happened at your rental? I am in the same situation now, just rented for first time and conf. says Standard Counter. I want to be able to use PC in two weeks. Anyone have any idea if this is possible?

What were you able to do about your car rental? Were you able to use PC at your first rental with 'standard counter' on the reservation?
