So to take it closer to home I jumped the Brexit barrier and sought the advice of ADEME (
Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l'Énergie), which suggests 19 degrees for living areas, and an even frostier 16 degrees in bedrooms.

Seriously, his recommendation is probably fine for homes in the tropics. But international hotel groups should be aiming to accommodate the comfort levels of visitors from all over the world by offering heating/cooling systems that can be regulated and operated by guests.
