This is a daytime flight, arriving into LHR at 19:35. As such it has an identity crisis over whether to be breakfast or lunch. The menu emphasis was certainly breakfast in this case. As I'd had brekkie in the Chelsea Lounge beforehand, I tried to make it as lunchified as I could, and delayed my meal until 3.5 hours into the flight, having reserved my selection before takeoff.

The trio of salmon was a Frankenstein mixture of what was on the menu and some bits from down the back. For some reason the Balik and cream cheese hadn't made it onboard, so the crew cobbled together some smoked salmon and horseradish cream from biz. Wine: Serge Dageneau Pouilly Fumé 2022, a great food wine, had this also last month on a return trip to DXB.

The charcuterie plate was pretty tasty, I enjoyed it. It would have been nice to have a larger portion size considering this was now my lunch. Wine: Serge Dageneau Pouilly Fumé 2022 , again: this is so versatile with savoury food.

Imported from the "Light Meal" section, the macadamia sea salt caramel cheesecake was mediocre, definitely not up to the bread & butter pudding of yesterday's flight. Wine: Les Etoiles de Doisy-Daene Sauternes 2015, worked well, with enough depth to cope with the salted caramel.
