In the 18th century, smart causal means a well-tailored suit , a white dress shirt, a bow tie and dress shoes. In the 19th century, smart causal consisted of a suit and accessories like a top hat or a bowler hat. In the 20th century, smart causal means a buttoned down shirt with pants and shoes. From the mid-20th century onwards, smart causal means any shirt with long pants with any covered shoes. In the 21st century (the social media era) which I suspect both nicolas75 and I are not part of and are part of the old fogey era, smart causal means any shirt with shorts/pants with any open-top shoe.

As you see, fashion moves forward, The definition of smart causal moves forward with it as well. I hope that nicolas75 does not easily get offended by others and judges others by what they wear. Obviously, we are talking about the IC KL in this thread, and Malaysia does not have any environmental regulation against setting the temperature at any temperature. So I'm not sure why we are arguing about an arbitury number set by the hotel and not allowing the guest to set a temperature that they feel most comfortable with. Unless nicolas75 feel that it is good hospitality to force guests to accept a fixed temperature in their room, just as it is good hospitality to force guest to accept his dress code. To each his own. My policy has always been to live and let live. Whatever makes guest happy will make the property profitable, and the staffs are there to moderate between competing guest needs to keep each and every guests happy. Any property that can successfully accomplish this will be profitable.
