Argh, I had forgotten the limitations of Gold RUs. So under my original scenario, if we have booked on a single PNR and I have managed to confirm upgrades for our outbound flights using my Elite RUs, after I slip down to Gold and have managed to change the return sector to my desired dates, I can only upgrade myself with one of my Gold RUs? But if my partner has a silver RU (he might just be Silver by then) he could use that, but if not we'd just have to request a OneUp and hope for the best?
