After having 2 batteries confiscated by China Eastern at Shanghai because they were in my checked luggage, I know the ropes. The tools will be in checked luggage but the batteries will be in the pockets of a hoodie that I’ll be wearing. They add too much weight to carryon Luggage. I have a house in Chiangmai and just about everything that I’m taking over will remain in the house. My Thai wife will probably have me bring back Thai spices and other allowable food items. I doubt if I have to worry if that will be stolen. I will put TSA locks on but probably not plastic wrap the checked luggage. I’m definitely overthinking the situation.
