They have been the cheapest option by a considerable amount the last several times I've priced Hertz. I don't know if that's due to lack of demand, a marketing strategy, because the recharge option is viewed as an enhanced revenue opportunity, or some combination of a variety of factors. At least at downtown Oakland, they were having difficulty delivering a charged Tesla.

But it does strike me as odd when I get into a $30,000+ car that has manual seats. Just seems like such a standard option on any car above a base trim Corolla/Civic type car.
Rental companies have access to stripped-down versions that are not typically available to the public.
I'd certainly take the Audi with manual seats over the Chevy with fully automatic.
