I mean, these days, retailers prices change prices more frequently than before. Having an item in the cart doesn’t make it immune from pricing changes if you haven’t yet bought it. Yesterday, was on Amazon, clipped a coupon, then didn’t finalize purchase until a couple of hours later, and coupon was gone. Annoying, yes. Really annoying that coupon doesn’t show a specific expiry. Definitely. My fault for not buying when I saw it at the better price. Yes. Also not different, really, from looking at the price of an airline itinerary, then coming back to purchase a little bit later, and the fare has increased. That is buyer beware.

there’s definitely worse things retailers do. I find it highly unethical, potentially bordering on illegal, when Target geofences to charge the same price as in-store on the app when you are physically in the store, then drops back down cheaper when you leave. Have seen that multiple times. In fact, bought an item in store once when price showed same on app, and checked when I got home, again on app, where it was like 15% lower. Then had them price-match it.
