gil123 Afternoon tea used to be served on a three tier cake stand which was quite delightful, so it sounds as if they have scaled that back. In my time staying there they have very firmly stuck to offering canapes only during the cocktail hour (as you describe). This is not a hotel where you get dinner during the cocktail hour (like Le Meridien). Actually I like it that way as there are so many wonderful restuarants to explore outside the hotel. But for some it will raise the question of whether it is worth paying for a club room - actually I would say it is worth it, if only to avoid the zoo at breakfast time in the main restaurant!!
