I think the hotel subcontracts almost all tours and excursions. Some of them are super overpriced from the hotel.
For example, the hotel charges $400~ for 4 hours to rent a boat that you can drive yourself around the Bora Bora lagoon. However, if you just book it through the operator directly on their site, it's $180. Diving is the same price from the hotel it seems. What I do regret is not booking things far, far in advance. A lot of stuff I've noticed that I want to do is completely booked out. Especially in Moorea.
