I usually am happy with Comfort+ upgrades on international flights (platinum status). However, a few months back I went with Premium Select on some flights to and from Asia since the prices were reasonable.

Now, I have had opportunity to make upgrades to Delta One on flights to and from Europe. A DTW-AMS flight was $1200 to upgrade, a AMS-ATL $1300. I jumped at both. They are far below the usual price, and considerably lower than Premium Select to Europe.

Now I’m curious. Is Delta trying to lure to me to go with Delta One in the future? Is this typical? I usually don’t bother to check Delta One, given the astonishing prices I’ve seen in the past.
