I had a J saver award ticket booked from IAD-DPS in May 2020. Obviously that never happened, and Indonesia reopened relatively late (later last year). I mistakenly thought I had until the end of the year to use this ticket, so when I found out my error, I had to book something when and where it was available. There was no availability from IAD, but there was from JFK so I switched my origin and departure. Not ideal, but doable and better than losing the ticket. I depart on 21 Aug, and have been periodically reaching out to EK to check if any J saver seats have opened from IAD.

Has anyone had any luck switching origin and destination in a J saver award ticket within weeks or days of departure? My connections to and from JFK are refundable in the event I’m able to switch. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ETA: I got no replies, but two weeks out I chatted with Emirates and was able to make the change.
