I’m one where when taxiing I want the shades open for safety, and because I get motion sickness. I like to sit in an aisle seat, so don’t have control of it. It drives me nuts when the FAs ask they remain closed on a daylight flight, and I ask the window person to please open the shade just for a bit as I get motion sickness and most comply. If they don’t then I ask them to pass me their puke bag, that usually works.
