I use HH points as a motivator with child care providers. Many experiences gifting nights domestically, and at least one abroad (France.) I always just add a name as an additional guest, and never an issue. I give the "additional guest" my HH card to present if challenged (never to date), and stand ready to take a call at time of check-in if needed.
