I think another benefit to switching from NW Gold to KLM Gold is that KLM Gold cardholders have SkyTeam Elite Plus status, while I think NW Gold are only SkyTeam Elite (not Elite Plus).

Elite Plus status brings greater benefits in the SkyTeam alliance.
