But I don’t see the madness in paying 300£ (ok adjusted for points earned and free breakfast) in peak season to stay in a decent 5* hotel (ok not a palace) in Central London, 25% of the time upgraded to a high floor room with garden view (so no vis a vis) and 75% of the time to a top floor suite (yes with a door separating the bedroom and living room) with a balcony on the same garden?

Will try to give a go to the GSY if I can secure a guaranteed premium suite upgrade (already wanted and your review made me want it even more) but wont take the risk to stay one week stuck in a tiny claustrophobic room as described by others (even if marginally cheaper than the Churchill)…
Mind me asking how long your Churchill stay is on average when you get the peak season upgrade? I’m a fan of the hotel, but it was always pay for play if I wanted a further suite upgrade beyond base suite. My stays are 5-7 nights in Sept or Nov.
