Thanks Zen100,

Have you had (or does anyone else) have any personal experience of upgrading at the airport and getting double-tier points? I once had a cash ticket in premium economy that I upgraded to Club with miles, then paid cash to upgrade at the airport to first. The agent at check-in assured me that I would get the tier points and Avios for first, but I only got them based on the original purchase of premium economy, so I am always very sceptical of airport upgrades.

I really want to do any cash upgrades with BA if possible, because my fear is if AA do it, the flight numbers will become AA and I will not get the double-tier points on those flights.
