I lived in Alaska 17 years and can confidently say I never once heard of that happening to anybody. And five of those years were in Fairbanks where I knew absolutely nobody who took the city bus anywhere. YMMV? 🤷‍♂️

That said, that is an awful thing to have happen on a trip…I hope the OP healed up easily!
