Just a word of advice and warning. I was booked on 29 December on UA 29 from JFK to LAX. This is the late evening departure (8:50pm). It was over the holiday period and a very heavy load in coach. I had already upgraded to C with a CR1 and snagged 9C. At the gate they handed me a new boarding pass for 2C in F. I was thrilled to get to try the new PS First seat. Turned out the whole F section was op-ups from C and I suspect all of them were originally ticketed in Y. So a great night for op-ups.

But a word of warning...despite the hype about better food service, there was no dinner on this flight. The purser said it left too late. Instead there was a terrible snack of a few cold cuts and a cold roll. Definitely not up to the standards of the promotional materials for PS -- particularly as I hadn't eaten since breakfast. So look out if you are on the late flight from JFK to LAX.

That said, the new seat is fabulous. I didn't find the slight slant to be an issue though it was a bit lumpy for sleeping on one's side.
