Not exactly the same, but I had LCA-AMM as paid ticket on Royal Jordanian and AMM-DOH-DPS on a separate AA award ticket on QR. I had overnight connection in AMM but less than 24 hours. RJ agent in LCA not only checked my luggage all the way to DPS on separate tickets with overnight layover , but also issued me QR boarding passes, which I could not get online due to required document check.

The baggage was also tagged with a short connection sticker (had 50 minute connection in DOH) amazing that RJ agent in LCA noticed it and tagged appropriately.

The baggage made it and overall very positive experience with OW connections on separate tickets so far.
