This must have just happened today, as I transferred miles last night (12/29) and did receive a confirmation from AGR. If you look, there are still references to transferring to UA in some places on AGR's website, including the Terms and Conditions page and the Rewards section of Terms and Conditions posted on the website. I did not see any notice posted on AGR's website about the change. In light of that, contemplate the following:
Amtrak may, in its discretion, cancel, modify, restrict, or terminate the Program, or any aspects or features of the Program at any time without prior notice.
Updated Program rules will be available at http://www.amtrak.com. Any change in the Program will apply to unredeemed Points as well as Points Members may earn in the future.[emphasis added]
And no jokes about being the straw that broke the camel's back.
