1. If you've done you're homework, it's typically pretty easy to tell. The hotel's website room descriptions is a good place to start. Or just check the app (as suggested above).
2. I don't care as much about the type of room, but its actual characteristics. You can call a room "the Presidential Suite" but if it smells like cigarette smoke, directly overlooks the garbage bins, or has a connecting door in the bedroom, I don't want it.
