On the E175. What I’ll do is say “hey can I go see if I can find a spot for my bag and if it doesn’t work out, can you tag it so I can grab it at the gate” and every GA I’ve mentioned this to has said sure no issue. Granted, I’m not doing this when I’m one of the last ones on the plane.

My go-to is. 26L Patagonia backpack and I've found that fits under seat or overhead on everything.
With the exception of course being the left side bins on the CRJ's which are completely useless
It is the compact Tumi, I have the larger of the two. I was pleasantly surprised last week when it fit into the CR7 bin.
