Account "Compromised" After Stay

After an average recent stay at a HI I got 2 email notifications saying that my account information had been updated, I made nothing of it as nothing on my account was actually changed. However today I got my points posted from the stay without receiving the usual satisfaction survey, so I had a second look at my account and noticed that someone had opted me out of receiving surveys from hotels.
Is this normal? I reported the issue to IHG and they offered to reset my password but my account definitely was not "compromised" in a traditional sense that people tried to make bookings with my points, but rather it would appear that whoever gained access to my account simply did not want me to answer the survey about this stay - which was honestly not that bad TBH.
But the whole situation left a very bad taste and I've honestly never encounter this before - any ideas/advice on what to do next?
