I am very partial to Grand Hyatt Tokyo as that’s my first choice whenever I am in Tokyo. However, my son just stayed at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo this week and he was given a newly renovated room on a high floor, and he said that it’s very nice! He was quite surprised at how modern and pleasant it was for him after being told be me (from reading this thread) that it’s a tired and potentially terrible hotel.

The HR Tokyo is now back on my list of possibilities due to its reasonable rates as well as its location in Shinjuku which I quite like along with Roppongi Hills where the Grand Hyatt is.

Let’s hope that I will be given one of those newly renovated rooms like my son got.
