Hi Friends. Hope you have all found a way to cool off during the Global Summer Meltdown 2023.

I decided to chill out for a few days down in OSide and took in the fresh ocean air at the Seabird Resort.

Oceanside, CA where the distinctive briny salt fills the air or maybe that’s weed smoke. Refreshing either way.

Its a great driveable resort choice for those in SoCal.

When you are there:

1. Try Zzang Hot Dog and Chicken. Summer is never complete without fried salty food. This local chain makes some pretty tasty cheesy fried corn dogs. Up the street from the resort.

2. Blade 1936. Fresh pasta, wood fired pizza, and drinks. 5 min walk from resort.

3. La Michocana Ice Cream- Delicious fresh ice cream with lots of flavors you don’t see at Salt and Straw or Baskin Robbins like Mamey and Mango Chamoy. Try the Snickers paleta that has a thick slice of snickers bar running through the middle. 10-15 min walk north on Mission in a strip mall next the Walmart

4. Woomiok- Just do it. This Korean restaurant is like a 20 min drive south but it legit yummy. When I am anywhere close to it, I drive and consume mass quantities of excellent food. The spécialité maison is the spicy braised short ribs but don’t sleep on the seafood pancake, spicy cold noodles, or oxtail soup.
