My favorite feature in both Row 1 window seats was the added storage on top of the AVOD, including inside the bassanette. I threw my blanket, pillow, etc inside there unless I was using them. This prooved useful on the MEL-SFO flight becasue the crew used every overhead on the A-B side between Rows 1 and 3. Since we boreded late, I had to put my carry-on, which I usually go int a few times each flight, back in row 5.
