mentioned, you cannot expect AA/BA to through-check your bag and protect you in case of misconnection when the 2 tickets are booked in separate PNRs. Depending on the change fee and fare difference, you might want to change your LHR-ORD ticket to LHR-xORD (or another transit point)-CMH. Otherwise, leave ample time to minimize misconnection risk and for bag re-check (if needed, may not be much of a difference since it is International-to-Domestic).
