I have question about my coverage:
  • I booked car using travel portal and paid in full
  • I picked up the car at rental counter and provided CSR but unfortunately, they had another card on file and put a temporary hold on that card
  • I ran into an accident and exchanged car after accident
  • I returned the car at end of my rental period of 3 days, and used CSR to pay for final amount
My question is the language states, in order to be eligible, I should have used the card to initiate and complete the transaction using the card. Now in this case, since I paid in full would they consider the initial payment I paid as initiate and final payment using CSR as complete and provide me the coverage ?
My final receipt shows appropriate card , however the initial rental agreement shows the other card the rental company used, and I tried contacting them to check if they can modify that but unfortunately they said they can not modify that.

Also, should i first check with Chase if they would provide me coverage, before going to my personal insurance for collision ? I am already using my personal insurance for liability portion of the claim. Any advice from folks with experience in similar situations in past would be greatly appreciated. As a reminder, always check when you pick up the car, which card they have put the temp hold on!!! In my case, they did not provide me the print out, just sent and email, and I didn't check it right away. May be if they had provided me the print out, I might have checked.
