The reason for my post is that the Brand Explorer Award page classifies Secrets Impressions Moxche as a "Secrets" property, not "Impressions". This feels weird, as that means there's only one actual Impressions property in the world (Isla Mujeres, which just opened a couple months ago). It's a minor detail, but I feel it's worth documenting.
The rates won't sort themselves out if people are paying the absurdly inflated prices. I don't think people are being harsh on the property itself, I myself posted
"SIM is a very nice all inclusive, having been there for 4 nights last month, but I would not value it anywhere near what they are trying to charge cash wise" its more being harsh on the value perspective.
Also to your second point, I believe the reason for that is that Hyatt didn't separate out impressions into a separate brand for brand explorer purposes until a month or two ago, so after your stay, and they didn't go retroactively change it for people that had stayed there when it was still branded as Secrets. I know because I asked my FT friend who had booked the room.
