Tried to complain through BA but got nothing, have gone through CEDR and their deadline is today, is it likely I will get compensation? I had high hopes because it was over 4 hours delayed and because of the long distance and even the cabin staff said we’d get compensation but I’m getting so fed up with it now! Worth persevering? Thanks
Definitely not the right thread, you want this one:

Sounds on the face of it that you have a good case for compensation, if you can give more details of the flight number and date, it'll be easier to comment. Also anything said on board about the reason for the delay. The engine issue should be a clincher but may be combined with airport, atc and weather delays.
Absolutely worth persevering.
And welcome to flyertalk, note you only have a few posts on your first day, so use them wisely.
