Thank you for the guidance regarding parking fees, the USD 55 were proactively removed from my invoice without me having to ask for it.

"Flying Machine" asked for my views of the hotel. Just for background, I spend around 150-200 nights every year in 5-star hotels, mostly in the Middle East, so my standards are quite high.

On the Alila:
+ New hotel (I always prefer new over old, often more important than star-rating)
+ Globalist breakfast was nice (choice of entrees)
+ Staff generally professional and courteous
+/- The hotel is right on the coast, but the beach is a climb down the dunes away and stoney
- Hotel is way overpriced, be it on cash (for my night, regular rooms were selling at USD 1200++) or on points (paid 45000)
- Very basic decor, definitely not luxurious in any way
- In my eyes, not enough of a resort: Small gym only, pool is small, little "space", views are ok-ish at best (if you do not get a beachfront room - I had a view of the lagoon with railway track and freeway)
- Isolated location: you definitely need a car to get around and visit eateries in towns nearby

Overall, I would not come back.
