I said it was a nothing burger to Hyatt and that MGM would initiate any corrective action if it were truly a problem. That was also before I went to Vegas and realized the scope of the problem after talking to employees.

Very happy to say I was naive as to how many people were doing this.

Again - to be consistent - I believe MGM dumped Hyatt for Marriott, who will be offering a partnership that doesn't require MGM to give status to Marriott members. I do not, and still do not, believe that Hyatt dumped MGM because they were getting too many elite stays at Excalibur based on their poorly thought out Bilt promo.
